Hi. I'm Brian. I have over 20 years of experience as a Marriage & Family Therapist, and now 13 years affiliation with the Collaborative Law Institute of MN. Most of my time is spent in couples therapy, co-parenting, and discernment counseling to help couples decide whether or not to work on their marriage or move toward separation or divorce. I love this work, and helping families be healthier and more effective is what gets me to work every day. At the same time I know that staying together is not always the right answer, and when a separation or divorce is necessary, I want to help you do that in a way that is as healthy as possible for you, for your children, and that sets the family up to be more successful in the future. Read on for a little more about what I do: DISCERNMENT COUNSELOR to help couples in crisis make a decision about the future of their marriage with clarity and thourghtfulness. COLLABORATIVE DIVORCE COACH with strong background in family, adult, and marital therapy, mental health trauma, and divorce education. CHILD SPECIALIST with background in child and family therapy, assessment and treatment of child/adolescent mental health disorders. Currently offering the CHILDRENS DIVORCE GROUP, a therapeutic group for children ages 7-12 focusing on helping children cope more effectively with the difficult emotions of a divorce. While it is essential to have good legal representation to understand and move through the legal process, an attorney is not trained to identify and understand the complex emotional issues that occur in this major life crisis.
