- Have your kids select from their toys to give to charity before Christmas. No kids? Each time you get a new item of clothing, give away something old.
- Call or write to a teacher/mentor/boss who changed your life. Thank them. It will mean more to them that you can imagine.
- Bring a box of doughnuts or a fruit basket to share at the office or take one to a fire station/post office/library/school office.
- Think about your hobbies and talents (photography, sewing, carpentry, résumé guru, etc.) – what can you do or make to help someone in need?
- Prepare a meal or bake a batch of cookies for a friend who is going through a difficult time.
- Put sticky notes with positive slogans on the mirrors in restrooms. The power of positivity!
- Talk to someone at work whom you have not talked to before. It might make their day!
- Shovel snow or rake leaves for an elderly neighbor. What might leave you with a sore back for a day or a couple of blisters, could be very debilitating for them to do!
- Leave any coupons you are not going to use on top of the products at the store.
- Send a greeting card to a friend or family member “just because.”
- If you can afford to, leave a server a large tip.
- Check out Pinterest – there are a ton of print-ables for random acts of kindness that you can leave for people such as a bag of popcorn at the RedBox kiosk, or a bag of instant hot chocolate with a note to leave on someone’s windshield to, “help them stay warm on a cold day.”
